Charles Barkley has been taking his Inside the NBA talents to college basketball as he has been on the March Madness coverage in the first 2 days of the NCAA Tournament. The SEC had an incredible season with 14 teams making it to the NCAA Tournament. With so many teams making the tournament, the expectation is that the conference would have a ton of success.

However, Day 1 didn’t go great for the conference. Auburn, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Arkansas took care of business. However, Missouri was upset by the 11-seed Drake, while Georgia was down 27-3 to Gonzaga en route to a blowout loss. The SEC also saw Texas drop its First Four game earlier in the week.

Barkley is a huge supporter of his conference, as he said he cheers for every SEC team but one.

“I thought the SEC had a rough day yesterday,” Barkley said. “I root for everybody in the SEC except for Alabama in football… Georgia, Florida, Tennessee; I root for the SEC, but I hate Alabama in football. That’s the only thing.”

Most teams would take going 4-3 in the NCAA Tournament as success, but there is pressure on the conference to be well-represented in the second weekend as well as the Final Four. There are plenty of SEC teams in action on Friday, including a Florida team that many people think is the best team in the country.
