Chris Moore, Auburn’s reserve small forward, left Thursday’s matchup against Alabama State early with what appears to be an ankle injury.

The injury happened as Moore was taking a shot at the basket. He was fouled on the play but left the court for the locker room before taking the shots. According to the TV broadcast Moore can return to the game despite exiting and not taking the free throws.

Moore, despite not being a constant threat to score, is an important part of this Tigers squad. His size and defense make him a positive contributor just by being on the court, and he does a lot that simply doesn’t show up in the stat sheet.

Alabama State is fighting hard, and Auburn hasn’t really been able to get into a groove. The Tigers lead by just 4 with just over 5 minutes remaining in the first half.

Miles Kelly is a big reason why Auburn leads early at all. The standout guard started 4-4 from range and sits at 12 points so far. Chaney Johnson is 2nd in scoring for the Tigers with 7, but Auburn has been unable to get Johni Broome rolling to this point in the game.
