Former Alabama guard Davion Hannah will remain in the SEC for his second season of college basketball. The former 4-star shooting guard announced on Thursday that he will play for Lamont Paris and the South Carolina Gamecocks in 2026.
Hannah took a medical redshirt this season after playing in just 10 games. He saw more than 20 minutes in a single game just 3 times, with his best outing coming against Maryland when he dropped 12 points, 4 rebounds and a pair of assists on 5-7 shooting.
While he didn’t see much playing time with Alabama, Hannah is a solid addition for Paris and the Gamecocks. He has positional size at 6-5 and, though not at a high volume, hit 36% of his 3-point attempts and 53% of his baskets within the 3-point arc. Obviously, he’s set to enter a bigger role with a South Carolina squad that was among the worst in the league last season.
Hannah is the 6th player to commit to play for South Carolina this offseason. He joins George Mason’s Kory Mincy, Texas’ Cam Heide, Wisconsin’s Aleksas Bieliauskas, Drexel’s Shane Blakeney and Duquesne’s Jakub Necas.
