Dennis Gates and Missouri have high expectations entering the 2026 season. Between a great transfer portal and a strong high school recruiting class, this Missouri team is as talented a group as Gates has had since he became the coach.

On Sunday, Gates announced some bad news for the roster, as guard Annor Boateng will miss the entire season.

Boateng suffered a leg injury in February, and he will be unable to play in 2026.

He took major steps for the Tigers last year, as he averaged 2.7 points and 1.8 rebounds in 11.5 minutes. He started the year scoring the ball well, as he had games of 12 and 10 points in the second and third game last year.

Freshman guard Jason Rowe Jr. is one of the biggest recruits in program history, and he was one the No. 7 player in the class, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

While losing Boateng is definitely a loss for the Tigers, this year’s team has the type of depth to be able to overcome some injury issues. The Tigers open the season on Nov. 3, when they play host to the Cleveland State Vikings.
