With the calendar turning its page to March, seemingly everybody is shifting their focus to college basketball and the upcoming NCAA Tournament.

And of course, few are as ready for the month’s madness as legendary ESPN broadcaster Dick Vitale, who is wrapping up another season on the microphone covering the sport he’s been a part of for so many years.

With Champ Week looming and Selection Sunday not far behind, Vitale took to Twitter/X to share his thoughts on who the sport’s hottest teams are entering the month.

And to little surprise, Vitale pointed at Jon Scheyer‘s Duke side and Todd Golden‘s Florida as the two squads that are peaking at just the right time.

Vitale’s picks are certainly well-founded, as the 2 teams have combined to lose just 3 conference games and have largely dominated their in-league competition.

Florida is fresh off a 111-77 statement win over Arkansas that separated the Gators as the class of the SEC, something Vitale certainly took note of. Golden & Co. will close their season at home against Mississippi State on Wednesday and at Kentucky on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Duke just eviscerated a similarly red-hot Virginia squad on Saturday morning, ensuring that the Blue Devils will be a heavy favorite to come out on top in the upcoming ACC Tournament. But first, Scheyer’s squad will look to take down a pair of in-state rivals in NC State (road) and North Carolina (home) this week.
