Charles Bediako has been the talk of college basketball. And for good reason.

ESPN’s Seth Greenberg said on Saturday’s College GameDay that Bediako makes Alabama a contender for the national title.

“Charles Bediako makes Alabama a national championship contender,” Greenberg said, drawing a reaction from host Rece Davis. “He absolutely totally changes the team. We talk about the great guards, and they’ve got great guards. And you put Bediako in a ball screen with those great guards, and you’re in drop coverage, you’ve got a blankin’ problem.

“Because if you’re in drop, if you stay high on that thing, Bediako gets behind you to lob dunk. If you drop too deep, then all of a sudden (Labaron) Philon’s coming off that screen, pull up jumper, three, or drawing a second defender and kicking it out. Game planning for Alabama with Bediako and his lob threat and his size is an absolute problem.”

Alabama (14-6, 4-3 SEC) is 1-1 since Bediako returned to the Crimson Tide basketball program after receiving a temporary restraining order against the NCAA. In 2 games, Bediako has logged 43 minutes. He is averaging 13.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.

Bediako’s injunction hearing is set for Friday, the day before Alabama takes on Auburn. He’s set to be available for the Tide against Florida (Sunday) and Texas A&M (Wednesday).
