ESPN Analytics predicts the outcome of Ole Miss vs. Arkansas SEC Tournament semifinal

Arkansas (24-8, 13-5) will square off with Ole Miss (15-19, 4-14) in the semifinals of the SEC Tournament on Saturday. ESPN Analytics has predicted the outcome and gives Arkansas a 74.9 percent chance of advancing to the SEC Tournament Championship Game at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

Arkansas is coming off an 82-79 victory vs. Oklahoma in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament. Darius Acuff Jr. led the way with a game-high 37 points. Acuff Jr. got off to a strong start with 21 points in the first to keep Arkansas afloat. Overall, Acuff Jr. shot 11-of-21 from the field and 10-of-12 from the free-throw line. He also had five assists and five rebounds.

Arkansas is considered as one of seven locks from the SEC for the NCAA Tournament, according to ESPN’s Joe Lunardi.

Ole Miss upset Alabama 80-79 in the quarterfinals. AJ Storr paced Ole Miss with 17 points in the stunning victory. Ole Miss forced Alabama into 31 percent shooting from the 3-point line (9-for-29). Ole Miss entered the conference tournament having lost 12 of the last 13 games but has caught fire this week.

“I think finally we’re seeing the vision of our team,” Ole Miss coach Chris Beard said. “We’re playing really well right now. Out-rebounding the opponent, taking care of the ball, balanced scoring, timely execution, late shot clock. We’re just doing a lot of good things.”

Arkansas defeated Ole Miss 94-87 on Jan. 7 in the lone meeting this season. Ole Miss vs. Arkansas will tip off at 3:30 p.m. ET and will be televised on ESPN.
