Kentucky added its 4th transfer commitment of the offseason on Wednesday, landing a pledge from former Washington State guard Jerone Morton. The Winchester, Kentucky native joins Zoom Diallo (Washington), Alex Wilkins (Furman) and Justin McBride (James Madison) at Kentucky out of the transfer portal.
The Washington State shooting guard took an official visit to Kentucky last week. He started his career at Morehead State and played point guard for the Eagles in 2025.
As you can see above, Morton is a solid 3-point shooter but didn’t knock them down at a terribly high volume. He hit 31 of his 79 attempts across 31 appearances. Outside of that, Morton averaged 7.8 points, 2.6 assists and 1.8 rebounds per game in his lone season with the Cougars. Notably, Morton combined to score 31 points in 2 outings against Gonzaga.
As many Kentucky fans can probably assume from his stats, Morton appears to be a depth addition with Zoom Diallo and Alex Wilkins already on the roster.
It’s been a bit of a disappointing offseason for Kentucky thus far — made worse considering Tyran Stokes’ decision to play for Kansas last night — but the Wildcats’ roster is now starting to come together.
