Former Mizzou forward Mark Mitchell is in the transfer portal, according to a report.

Per On3’s Pete Nakos, Mitchell has officially entered the transfer portal. According to Nakos, Mitchell has a “do not contact” tag.

His move into the portal comes hours after a Kentucky judge granted a temporary restraining order, allowing Mitchell and several other athletes to have legal entry into the transfer portal.

Mitchell has reportedly been a target for Kentucky basketball this offseason as the Wildcats look to fill out their final roster spot. The former Mizzou standout would presumably start for Mark Pope’s team at power forward if deemed eligible.

Federal and state courts have been ruling on cases involving class of 2022 student athletes in recent weeks. As of this writing, it’s not yet clear when โ€” or if โ€” consistent eligibility standards will be used for the upcoming academic calendar.

Class of 2022 student athletes are seeking a 5th year of eligibility after the NCAA previously announced it would be moving to a 5-in-5 eligibility model. Student-athletes in that class were initially excluded from the ruling by NCAA membership, leading to numerous lawsuits and appeals that remain ongoing in many courts.

Mitchell has started 133 games in his college career, spanning 2 seasons each at Duke and Mizzou. Last year, he averaged 18.3 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.
