Keyon Menifield Jr. announced that he would be entering the transfer portal last week after just 1 season in Seattle with Washington. The freshman guard did the slightly unorthodox Sunday, releasing a top 6 list as a transfer.
Regardless, it comes with good news for SEC country. Menifield included 3 elite SEC programs on his list: Alabama, Arkansas and Tennessee. Also included on his list was a potential return to Washington, Ohio State and Louisville.
The Flint, Michigan native posted his list via social media Sunday evening.

Each of the listed SEC schools will be losing some top talent next season and could use a player of Menifield’s production. He’s a drive-first type of player, preferring to work inside rather than let it fly from range, though he’s a solid 3-point shooter at 33%. He also needs to polish his hit rate at the line, as he made just 44 of his 63 attempts last season. Last season, the freshman guard averaged just over 10 points per game for the Huskies.
Alabama seems like an interesting landing spot based on how much the Tide is losing this offseason. Alabama will say goodbye to Brandon Miller, Noah Clowney, Nimari Burnett (Michigan transfer) and perhaps Charles Bediako and Jahvon Quinerly next season (NBA draft while maintaining eligibility.)
As for an official announcement on Menifield’s next stop in college, we’ll just have to wait and see.
