Malik Reneau, a former 4-star prospect who initially committed Florida in the class of 2022, is set to enter the transfer portal.

Reneau announced that decision on Tuesday night after Indiana hired Darian DeVries to replace Mike Woodson as the program’s head coach. Reneau thanked Woodson and his staff for the opportunity to play in Bloomington in his announcement.

This is not the first time Reneau has dealt with a coaching change. He initially picked the Gators as a 4-star prospect back in the class of 2022. However, when Florida coach Mike White departed the program for Georgia, Reneau decommitted from Florida and ended up enrolling at Indiana.

Reneau spent 3 years with the Hoosiers and was a very productive player. He’s averaged over 11 points and 5 rebounds per game across 3 seasons of college basketball. He’s also averaged at least 2 assists in each of his last 2 seasons. Reneau is a power forward who is listed at 6-foot-9.

Reneau is expected to be a highly-recruited transfer this offseason. It will be interesting to see if Florida or another SEC team gets into the mix during his recruitment. He has 1 season of eligibility remaining.

Reneau attended Montverde Academy in Montverde, Fla.
