Malique Ewin entered the transfer portal after 1 season at Florida State, where he ended the season as the team’s second-leading scorer.

Could the former Ole Miss big man be looking to head back to the SEC?

Ewin has reportedly zeroed in on 5 finalists as he nears a decision, according to On3’s Joe Tipton. Three are in the SEC: Auburn, Arkansas, and Mississippi State, with Kansas and Virginia also in the mix.

Ewin originally signed with Ole Miss out of the 2022 recruiting class, where he played in 14 games as a freshman. After transferring to junior college for the 2023-24 season, he returned to the Division 1 ranks, signing with Florida State. There, he averaged 14.2 points and 7.6 rebounds a game.

On April 1, though, due in part to the retirement of Leonard Hamilton as the Seminoles’ head coach, Ewin decided to enter the transfer portal and seek a new home for the 2025-26 season.

The Atlanta-area product is currently one of the top players in the transfer portal, and the way things look to be shaping up for him, there’s a good chance his next stop could be the familiar territory of the SEC after a successful stint with Florida State.
