Mizzou lands elite guard from St. Louis for 1st commitment of 2027

Mizzou basketball recruiting is on the board for 2027 with a splash commitment.
Scottie Adkinson has verbally pledged early, announcing his plans to play for Mizzou. He shared the big news with Joe Tipton of Rivals.
A St. Louis native out of Webster Groves, Adkinson currently measures 6-2 and 170 pounds. He is rated 4-stars, the No. 2 player in state of Missouri, No. 3 combo guard and No. 37 prospect overall in the Class of 2027 on the 247Sports Composite. At the early stage of his recruitment, Adkinson held scholarship offers from Illinois, Iowa, Louisville, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and others.

Adkinson recently impressed at the Midwest Showcase, doing a little bit of everything.

Adkinson is Mizzou’s first commitment for the 2027 cycle. It’s a long way to go until signing day, but Adkinson will be a strong starting piece for Dennis Gates to build around.
