Nate Oats has already worked hard to improve the roster for Alabama entering the 2025-26 season. However, the head coach is not content to sit back with room to add another piece this offseason.

Appearing at the Regions Tradition Pro-Am this week, Oats took time to address what to expect for the Crimson Tide roster. He revealed the team is at 11 scholarship players and feels good about where it is at, but Alabama could still add another piece from the transfer portal.

For now, Alabama will be monitoring players who potentially withdraw from the NBA Draft:

“We’ve got 11 guys on the roster right now on scholarship. Probably gonna fill at least one more,” said Oats. “See what happens. Still some decent guys out there. If we went into the season with just these 11, I think we’d be fine. But as you saw last year, some injuries happen. You need some depth. We’re looking at a couple guys. We’ll see who is pulling their name out of the draft that’s still in the portal. There’s options out there like that.”

So far, Oats has already added the 20th-ranked transfer recruiting class in the country, according to 247 Sports. That group includes 4 players, each with impressive length and size.

Former Miami shooting guard Jalil Bethea is the highest ranked transfer in the group, but Alabama also added key big men in Taylor Bol Bowen and 7-footer Noah Williamson. We’ll see how the Tide rounds out the roster entering the summer.
