The 2025 NBA Draft will be here before we know it, with Round 1 tipping off on Wednesday, June 25, from Brooklyn. Round 2 will take place the following day.
Now that the NBA Lottery has concluded, with the Dallas Mavericks shockingly winning the No. 1 overall pick, it seems Cooper Flagg of Duke knows where he’ll be playing basketball next year.
However, the rest of the lottery (and the draft at large) is still mostly up in the air. On Monday, ESPN’s Jonathan Givony and Jeremy Woo updated their 2025 mock draft. As you can see below, they had 5 SEC basketball stars going in Round 1, including 3 in the lottery:
- No. 5 — Jeremiah Fears, G, Oklahoma — Utah Jazz
- No. 6 — Tre Johnson, G, Texas — Washington Wizards
- No. 9 — Collin Murray-Boyles, F, South Carolina — Toronto Raptors
- No. 21 — Asa Newell, C, Georgia — Utah Jazz
- No. 29 — Walter Clayton Jr., G, Florida — Phoenix Suns
In Round 2, Woo and Givony had 7 SEC standouts hearing their names called, bringing the SEC’s total to 12 in the 2-round event. Will they be proven right? We’ll find out next month in Brooklyn!
