Saturday is being celebrated as one of the biggest regular-season days of college basketball, with the top 4 teams in the AP Top 25 facing off. In the first of the two top-4 matchups, No. 4 Arizona took down No. 2 Houston 73-66, and the Wildcats joined an exclusive club in the process.
According to ESPN, Arizona is only the second team this century to defeat 3 teams ranked in the top 3 by the AP Poll. The last team to do it was Kansas in 2011-12.
Making Arizona’s feat even more impressive, the 3 wins have all come away from home. The Wildcats beat Florida in Las Vegas to begin the year and then won true road games at UConn and at Houston.
Per ESPN Research: Arizona becomes just the second team this century with three regular-season wins vs. AP top-three teams in a single season.

With Saturday’s big win, Arizona improves to 25-2 overall and 12-2 in the Big 12. Houston drops to 23-4 overall and 11-3 in conference contests.
The calendar turns to March soon, which means the college basketball regular season is winding down. There are 4 regular-season Big 12 contests remaining. Can Arizona close out strong and win the conference title? The Wildcats are now a big favorite at prediction market Kalshi after Saturday’s win.
