Recruiting insider predicts Tennessee basketball will land elite guard transfer
Tennessee seems to be trending in a positive direction with regards to its recruitment of former Wake Forest guard Juke Harris.
On3’s Pete Nakos logged an official prediction on Friday that Harris will ultimately commit to the Volunteers. Harris, regarded as one of the best overall players in the transfer portal, has entered his name into the 2026 NBA Draft but is maintaining his college eligibility while he gets feedback from pro teams.
Last season at Wake Forest, Harris averaged over 21 points per game while also contributing 6.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists. He showed off good shooting touch as well, hitting 33% from beyond the arc on a volume of 7.5 attempts per game. He also shot 78% at the foul line on 7.1 attempts per night.

At 6-foot-7, Harris is one of the more versatile guards in this transfer class. According to EvanMiya’s model, Harris is the No. 27 overall transfer and the No. 6 shooting guard in this class.
If Harris does decide to stay in college basketball and join the Vols, he’d become a focal point of Tennessee’s offense next season. Rick Barnes and his staff have been very aggressive in adding elite talent via the portal already this offseason, including players like Dai Dai Ames, Jalen Haralson and Miles Rubin, among others.
Harris will participate in the NBA Draft scouting combine from May 10-17. If Harris is going to return to college basketball next season, he must withdraw from the NBA Draft by May 27.
Tennessee has reached the Elite Eight in 3 consecutive seasons. Next year, the Vols will be hoping to get to the Final Four for the first time in program history.
