Council is no stranger to the transfer process. He began his career at the JUCO level, playing at Monroe College from 2021-23. Council made the move to Wagner for 2023-24 before transferring to St. Bonaventure for 2024-25.
Council made 35 appearances, all starts, for the Bonnies in 2024-25. Playing 36.9 minutes per game, he averaged 14.6 points and 5.4 rebounds. The 6-4, 180-pound guard shot 43.5% from the field, making 29.9% of his 3-point attempts.
The Bonnies did not make the NCAA Tournament in 2025, seeing their season end with an opening-round loss to Kent State in the NIT. Council, though, has some Big Dance experience from his season at Wagner. In a First Four win over Howard, Council became the first player in an NCAA Tournament game to register 20 points with more than 5 rebounds and 5 assists while shooting over 50 percent from the field and playing every minute of the game and not committing a foul since assists became official in 1984. He had 18 points and 4 rebounds in the second-round game against North Carolina.
