Steven Pearl talks ‘very spirited film’ session after Oklahoma loss
Auburn coach Steven Pearl met with reporters on Friday in advance of the Tigers’ primetime matchup against Ole Miss this weekend.
The Tigers are in need of a major bounce-back performance after they were handily beaten by Oklahoma in Norman earlier this week. That result was a blow to Auburn‘s NCAA Tournament hopes, but there’s still time to course-correct before Selection Sunday.
That was the message Pearl delivered on Friday, describing a “very spirited film room” a the team went over what went wrong in its 91-79 loss to the Sooners.
According to Pearl, the team responded with one of its “best practices of the year” on Thursday.
This is a must-win game for Auburn if it wants to stay on the right side of the NCAA Tournament bubble. According to the latest odds on Kalshi, the Tigers are significant favorites against Ole Miss on Saturday night:
Auburn is 5-11 against Quad 1 opposition and 2-2 against Quad 2 foes. Saturday’s game against the Rebels, however, is a rare Quad 3 SEC game for Auburn.
Tip off is set for 8:30 p.m. ET on the Plains.
