A Tennessee forward is dealing with an injury, but it’s not all bad news.
Mike Wilson of On3 reports that Christian Fermin suffered a left-hand injury that will sideline the forward for the remainder of the summer. On the plus side, Fermin will be good to go for the 2026-27 season, which starts this fall.

Fermin, listed at 6-10, 225 pounds, is a redshirt senior for the 2026-27 campaign. He spent the 4 previous seasons at VCU.
In 2023-24, Fermin was a starter in all 38 games. He averaged 5.2 points and 4 rebounds over 21.4 minutes per game that season.
As a junior, Fermin played in 34 games for the Rams, but made just 11 starts. Though he made fewer starts, his playing time was similar at 19.4 minutes per game, and he averaged 4.6 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.4 blocks.
In 2025-26, Fermin appeared in just 4 games before leaving the team due to what was described as a personal matter. He took a redshirt for the season, extending his career to 2026-27.
