Tennessee trolls Charles Bediako, G League team after win over Alabama

After all the fuss over Charles Bediako’s status, Tennessee got the last laugh. And a G League team caught a social media stray.
After defeating Alabama 79-73, Tennessee’s social media team had some fun with the fact that the Vols just beat a team with a recent G League player on the roster. So the Delaware Blue Coats were warned that they were next. The Blue Coats engaged, turning to a popular 50 Cent reply gif to ask why they had been dragged into the rivalry troll.

So why were the Blue Coats tagged? They lost to the Motor City Cruise, Bediako’s former G League team, on Saturday night. Bediako played for the Cruise as recently as Jan. 17. He logged 6 minutes in the team’s win over the Birmingham Squadron, scoring 4 points.
Due to a court order, Bediako was able to play for Alabama on Saturday night. He was granted a temporary restraining order, making him eligible without NCAA punishment against him or the Tide.
Bediako sued the NCAA after initially being denied eligibility because he declared for the 2023 NBA Draft and signed NBA contracts. He’s arguing that he should be allowed to play again in college because he only played in the G League on 2-way contracts and is still within his 5-year NCAA window. A Tuesday hearing will decide his status going forward.
As for Saturday night, Bediako provided Alabama a boost on offense. He was one of three Crimson Tide players in double figures, scoring 13 points in 25 minutes off the bench. Bediako, though, only grabbed 3 rebounds on a night Alabama got out-rebounded 42-33.
