Texas A&M’s Jamie Vinson reportedly makes decision on future plans
Jamie Vinson will reportedly be back with Texas A&M for the 2026-27 season.
That’s according to TexAgs’ Luke Evangelist, who notes that Vinson had a strong close to the season as a reserve in A&M’s front court in the NCAA Tournament. He played 9 minutes in a win over Saint Mary’s and scored 5 points. He also scored 4 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 10 minutes in Texas A&M’s season-ending loss to Houston.
Vinson has 2 years of eligibility remaining.
Vinson began his career at Texas but transferred to Texas A&M after his freshman season. He appeared in 30 games for Texas A&M this season, averaging 3.5 points and 2.3 rebounds per contest.

The 6-foot-11 big could have a more significant role for Bucky McMillan in 2026-27. Rashaun Agee is out of collegiate eligibility, opening up significant minutes in Texas A&M’s front court.
Texas A&M could also bring in front court depth via the transfer portal. However, the Aggies only have 1 transfer commit as of this writing — former Kansas State guard PJ Haggerty. Texas A&M has one high school recruit signed for the 2026 class in 4-star center Josh Irving.
Texas A&M will be hoping to take another big step forward in Year 2 under McMillan. Vinson figures to play a role in those efforts.
