It was a rough week for SEC players in the Heisman Trophy race, as the conference’s best chances to take home the trophy all saw their odds fall.

Heading into Week 5, the SEC only has two players — Alabama QB Jalen Hurts and Mississippi State QB Nick Fitzgerald — on Bovada’s list of players with 66/1 odds or better.

Meanwhile, LSU RB Derrius Guice, who didn’t play much in the Tigers’ narrow home win over Syracuse, fell off the board completely.

Hurts currently has 33/1 odds to win after being listed at 25/1 last week, while Fitzgerald fell from 33/1 odds to 66/1 odds after a tough game against the Georgia Bulldogs.

Though it was a rough week for the SEC’s three Heisman favorites, we could soon see Tennessee RB John Kelly run his way into the rankings if he keeps putting up huge numbers.

Still, it’ll be tough for anyone to catch favorites Saquon Barkley and Baker Mayfield now.
