The SEC witnessed some strong — and not so strong — QB play in Week 6. The Davey O’Brien Award, given to one of the top passers in the nation each year, focuses on the good. And this week, it’s honoring two signal-callers that led their teams to victories on the road over ranked opponents.

On Monday, the Davey O’Brien Award named Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton and South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers to its Week 6 Great Eight. Their selection tied the SEC with the Big 12 for the most passers in this week’s class.

Sellers, in his fourth season with the Gamecocks, played his best game of the 2026 campaign against No. 16 Florida. The senior passer threw for 279 yards and four touchdowns in a 38-19 victory, snapping South Carolina’s eight-game SEC losing skid.

Stockton, a senior Bulldog, only had one touchdown pass against No. 6 Alabama. However, he completed 81.8% (18/22) of his passes and helped keep Crimson Tide quarterback Keelon Russell on the sideline during Georgia’s 20-17 victory.

The Gamecocks are taking their win into a Week 7 bye, but the Bulldogs are back in action again this weekend. Georgia hosts Auburn in The Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry at 3:30 p.m. E.T. on Saturday (ESPN).
