4-star 2027 LB flips commitment from Alabama to Tennessee

Kenneth Simon II will be staying closer to home.
The blue-chip linebacker from Tennessee committed to Alabama on May 11. Saturday, however, Simson switched sides in the rivalry, announcing that he is now committed to Tennessee. Simon shared the news with the help of Hayes Fawcett from Rivals.

Out of Brentwood (Tennessee) Academy, Simon is listed as measuring 6-2 and 210 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Simon is rated 4-stars, the No. 6 player in the state of Tennessee, No. 10 linebacker and No. 139 prospect overall in the Class of 2027.

Alabama and Tennessee weren’t the only programs to recruit Simon. Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, Mizzou, Ole Miss, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt are all listed among Simon’s 25 scholarship offers.
Simon is not only staying closer to home, but also carrying on his father’s legacy. Kevin Simon was a Tennessee linebacker from 2001-05, earning second-team All-SEC recognition in 2003 and ’05. Simon was selected by Washington in the 7th round of the 2006 NFL Draft at No. 250 overall.
The younger Simon gives Tennessee 14 commitments in its 2027 recruiting class. Alabama now sits at 8 verbal pledges after the flip.
