A four-star defensive end from Mobile, Ala. is keeping his options open, but it’s looking like it could be an Iron Bowl battle to land his talents.

Ryan Johnson of St. Paul’s Episcopal released a new top 12, and the Tigers and Crimson Tide, the favorites according to recruiting experts, are still in play. Johnson visited both Auburn and Alabama last month during the team’s spring practices.

LSU and Tennessee are the other two SEC teams to make the list which also includes Notre Dame and other various Power 5 schools. The 6-foot-4, 240-pound defensive end picked up an offer from FSU on Thursday, and the Seminoles appear to be in the hunt.

247Sports’ composite rankings rate Johnson as the No. 5 strong-side defensive end and No. 7 prospect from Alabama in the 2017 recruiting class.
