7 SEC women’s basketball teams make NCAA Tournament field

The NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament field was announced on Monday night, and 7 SEC teams made the cut.
As has become common, South Carolina earned 1 of the 4 No. 1 seeds in the women’s tournament. Alabama was the lowest seed out of the SEC, checking in at a No. 7 seed.
The entire tournament will be held in the San Antonio area. Here’s a look at the 7 SEC squads that qualified:
- South Carolina — No. 1 seed (Hemisfair region)
- Texas A&M — No. 2 seed (River Walk region)
- Georgia — No. 3 seed (Alamo region)
- Tennessee — No. 3 seed (Mercado region)
- Arkansas — No. 4 seed (Alamo region)
- Kentucky — No. 4 seed (Mercado region)
- Alabama — No. 7 seed (Hemisfair region)
