8 SEC squads crack the top 25 in Vegas’s bettor rankings

Gambling is a serious business, so it should come as no surprise that Vegas views college football teams differently than the AP Poll does.
Per ESPN’s Phil Steele, who puts together the Bettor Rankings every week, Vegas weighs teams by how well their overall talent would play on a neutral field.
As you can see below, in this week’s rankings, eight SEC teams make the top 25, led by Alabama at No. 1 (at least that much is the same):
- No. 1 — Alabama
- No. 5 — Georgia
- No. 7 — LSU
- No. 13 — Florida
- No. 19 — Mississippi State
- No. 20 — Texas A&M
- No. 22 — Auburn
- No. 25 — Kentucky
With some big games across the SEC this weekend, we’ll see how these rankings change heading into Week 11.
