Aaron Murray elevates Stetson Bennett above Heisman Trophy consideration at Georgia

Aaron Murray knows something about great Georgia quarterbacks since he’s at the top of the chart in one category.

Murray, after all, is Georgia’s all-time passing leader, has the 17th most career passing yards in NCAA history, and is the SEC’s top all-time passing yardage leader with 13,166 yards.

But Murray believes Stetson Bennett has elevated himself not only into the Heisman Trophy conversation this season, but into Greatest Of All Time status at Georgia. He called him the GOAT QB for the Dawgs.

Bennett certainly delivered a sensational first-half performance against LSU on Saturday in the SEC Championship Game. Bennett was 19-for-24 passing for 4 touchdowns as Georgia led 35-10.

Winning an SEC title would be about the only thing Bennett hasn’t accomplished at Georgia as the former walk-on has the national title that escaped most other QBs.

Other QBs in the mix for this award include Eric Zeier and David Greene.
