Alabama announces Players of the Week after win over South Carolina

The No. 7 Alabama Crimson Tide moved to 4-0 on the season this past weekend with a dominant 49-18 performance over the South Carolina Gamecocks under the lights at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
The Tide rolled in all 3 phases of the game against the Gamecocks, putting together one of their most complete games against SEC competition in the Kalen DeBoer era.
After the impressive showing against Carolina, Alabama announced its Players of the Week with a post on its official X account Monday afternoon.

Sophomore quarterbacks Keelon Russell and John Gazzaniga took home offensive Player of the Week honors alongside sophomore offensive lineman Michael Carroll. Russell put on a show, completing 21/27 passes for 365 yards and 4 touchdowns while picking up another 35 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Carroll anchored an Alabama O-line that kept Russell upright all night, while Gozzaniga was the standout performer on the scout team during the week.
On the defensive side of the ball, junior defensive back Red Morgan, sophomore linebacker Luke Metz, and freshman defensive lineman Malique Franklin earned nods for their efforts. Morgan racked up 8 total tackles and a pick-6, while Metz led the team with 13 tackles. Franklin, for his part, was the best scout teamer during practice leading up to the game.
Last but not least, junior defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. took home special teams player of the week alongside freshman tight end and scout team member Jude Cascone.
