Alabama has come out on top over Georgia and Florida State to gain the services of 2027 a center back from the Atlanta area.

Darrius White, a three-star CB from Creekside High School in Fairburn, Ga., announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide on Sunday afternoon, becoming the ninth recruit from the 2027 class to pledge to Kalen DeBoer’s program. Not counting UGA, FSU, and Alabama, he has offers from 17 programs, including Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Mizzou, and Tennessee.

White is just the second defensive player so far who has pledged to the Tide. The other is Avrian Pauley, an in-state defensive lineman.

White’s commitment is the fourth this month for Alabama. Michael Nnabuife, a tight end from Baltimore, verballed on June 6, along with Texas kicker Luke Cody. On June 8, the Tide landed Tai Phillips, a top 50 running back from Columbia, S.C.

All told, while DeBoer has just nine committed players in the fold for 2027, Alabama did have several notable players in for official visits over the weekend. Topping the list is Tupelo, Miss., offensive lineman Antonio Berry, the No. 7 player at his position. Top 30 in-state safety Junior Tu’opo was in Tuscaloosa as well.
