Alabama made a big splash in the class of 2028 on Friday morning.
The Crimson Tide picked up a commitment from 3-star quarterback prospect Charles Scott, according to Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett. Alabama offered Scott a scholarship this spring and was able to earn his commitment before the start of his junior season of high school football.
“Roll Tide!” Scott told Fawcett.
While Scott is currently a 3-star prospect, his offer list suggests he could see a bump in that ranking in the coming months. Most of his power-conference offers have come since the beginning of this calendar year, including Alabama, Georgia, Colorado and Pittsburgh. Florida State has also been involved in his recruitment, even having him on campus for a visit last November.

For now, Scott is the No. 432 overall player in the country for the class of 2028, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also regarded as the No. 37 quarterback and the No. 10 player from the state of Virginia.
Scott attends Huguenot High School in Richmond, Virginia. He’s listed at 6-foot-5, 255 pounds.
It’s still very early for the 2028 recruiting cycle, so Scott is the first player committed to Alabama for that class. The Crimson Tide also already have their 2027 quarterback in 5-star Elijah Haven, who committed last month.
