Alabama has been clicking on offense the last couple of weeks entering its big game at Mississippi State in Week 5, but the Crimson Tide took it to a different level on Saturday. Led by quarterback Keelon Russell, the Crimson Tide set a school-record for points against a ranked team on the road, as they knocked off the Bulldogs, 56-23.
Russell has been playing phenomenally for the last two weeks, and that continued on Saturday. The Alabama star finished 16-of-22 for 285 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Crimson Tide offense as a whole was great, as they were also able to rush for 179 yards and 4 touchdowns.
This game on Saturday featured two of the most talented young quarterbacks in the country, but it was the Crimson Tide offense that showed up and delivered. Through 5 games, the fewest points that Alabama has scored in a game this year is 45 points, and that was in Week 2 against Kentucky.
As good as the offense has been playing, a much bigger challenge is looming in Week 6 when the Georgia Bulldogs come to town in what is one of the biggest college football games of the season. Kickoff for that game is 7:30 p.m. ET, and the game will be on ABC.
