Alabama earns major commitment from elite DL in class of 2026
Alabama just made a huge addition to its 2026 recruiting class.
The Crimson Tide picked up a commitment from 3-star defensive lineman JJ Finch on Sunday morning. The talented lineman out of Indianapolis also had offers from programs such as Tennessee, Miami and Michigan.
On3’s Hayes Fawcett first shared the news of his commitment:

Finch is currently a 3-star prospect, although that could change. He’s close to 4-star status as the No. 448 overall player in the country for the class of 2026, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also regarded as the No. 50 defensive lineman in this class and the No. 2 player from the state of Indiana.
Finch is listed at 6-foot-3, 260 pounds. He took an official visit to Tuscaloosa back in May prior to making this decision.
Alabama is off to a bit of a slow start in the class of 2026, but Finch’s addition will certainly help keep some momentum going. The Crimson Tide now have 8 commits in this class. The group currently ranks No. 39 nationally per 247Sports Composite rankings, but there’s still plenty of time for Kalen DeBoer and his staff to put together an elite high school recruiting class before signing day.
