Alabama continued its strong recruiting weekend on Sunday morning with the commitment of 3-star offensive tackle Jared Doughty.

The mammoth 6-foot-6, 305-pound Doughty told Rivals of his commitment to Alabama for the 2026 season. Luring Doughty to Tuscaloosa is a huge victory for Alabama because he’s from Atlanta, so the Crimson Tide were able to pry him away from a rival state.

Doughty was on a visit to Tuscaloosa on Saturday for Alabama’s big Week 6 victory over Vanderbilt, and after the Tide secured that win on the field it got another victory the next day by getting Doughty’s commitment. It’s Bama’s 2nd commitment in 2 days, after 2027 cornerback Nash Johnson, another Georgia product, committed to the Crimson Tide before Saturday’s game.

Alabama outdid Georgia for Doughty’s commitment, with Auburn, Ohio State and Florida State also in the mix for the tackle.

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Doughty is the 914th-ranked player in the Class of 2026. He’s also the 76th-ranked offensive tackle in the class and the 96th-ranked player from the state of Georgia.

But the state of Georgia apparently won’t be keeping Doughty home, as the offensive lineman is headed to a rival SEC state for the 2026 season. This weekend was a great one for the Crimson Tide on the field and in the recruiting battles.
