Alabama is working on putting some momentum together for the 2026 recruiting class, and the Crimson Tide produced a key flip on Tuesday.

The commitment comes in the form of Jett Thomalla, a 4-star quarterback for the cycle. Thomalla is a multi-sport athlete who also averaged 6.7 points, 7.6 rebounds and 4.6 assists for Millard South High School in Omaha, Nebraska.

Thomalla generated multiple high-major offers, and he originally committed to Iowa State in April. However, Kalen DeBoer and the Tide came calling with an offer in May, and Thomalla is now ready to flip his commitment to Alabama, according to Hayes Fawcett with On3 Sports.

Listed at 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds, Thomalla threw for over 3,600 yards with 47 touchdowns and just 3 interceptions during the 2024 season. He set state records for his classification with that performance and led his school to the Class A state title.

According to the 247 Sports Composite, Thomalla is the No. 1 player out of Nebraska for the class of 2026. He also rates as the 16th QB in the country for the cycle.

The addition of Thomalla is just the 7th hard commitment for Alabama so far in the 2026 recruiting class, in a slow start for the Crimson Tide. However, there is plenty of time to add to the group across the summer and fall before we reach the end of the road.
