Alabama lands 2028 commitment from in-state LB

Fans who follow college football recruiting are mostly concerned with the 2027 class that will sign in a few months, but coaches are always looking toward the future. Kalen DeBoer‘s staff picked up a new commitment for 2028 on Tuesday.

Ryquan Butler is the newest Alabama commitment. He announced the news on social media.

From Notasulga, Alabama, Butler plays for Loachapoka High School. Butler is listed as measuring 6-3 and 205 pounds.

At this early stage of the 2028 cycle, Butler does not currently have a ranking from major recruiting outlets like 247Sports. Multiple major programs, however, like what they see from Butler. In addition to Alabama, Butler has early scholarship offers from Auburn, Florida State, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and others.

With Butler on board, Alabama now has 4 early verbal pledges for 2028. The class currently ranks No. 2 nationally on the Composite.
