Alabama has made a significant addition to its 2027 recruiting class.
The Crimson Tide have earned a commitment from 3-star edge Tyler Younger. He picked Alabama over finalists Stanford and Rutgers, choosing to stay closer to home. Younger is from Norcross, Georgia.
“A lot of reasons to go to Alabama,” Younger told Bama247’s Brett Greenberg.

Younger is a big pickup for the Crimson Tide. He’s the No. 629 overall player and the No. 58 edge rusher in the nation for the class of 2027, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
Younger is a recent offer for Alabama — he earned his spot earlier this month. Stanford, Baylor and Rutgers have also offered Younger a scholarship since the beginning of June. It’s possible Younger could rise up the recruiting rankings this summer as more scouts get a chance to evaluate him ahead of his senior season of high school football.
Alabama is off to a slow start in the class of 2027, although there’s still plenty of time for the Crimson Tide to add high school talent before the Early Signing Period in December. Younger is the 10th high school commitment for the Tide in this cycle.
