Alabama gets a key defender back this season when LB Dylan Moses returns from a knee injury he suffered nearly exactly a year ago.

Moses was a finalist 2 years ago for the Butkus Award given to the nation’s top linebacker. He led the team with 86 tackles. Moses spoke to the media on Tuesday and explained what it is like to be back.

“As far as my health, I felt really good, I just need to keep getting better,” he said “As far as developing that feel for being on the field again.”

Moses said he wanted to put a punctuation on the back end of his career and get back to 100 percent and affect his teammates.

Moses was asked about coach Nick Saban remarking that the defense needs to improve near the goal line. Moses said he thinks the defense needs to have better communication and be more confident.

“I feel like with me being out there it gives guys a sense of security and confidence in our communication that we will be able to communicate from one side of the field to the other,” he said. “Another thing we need to work on is making teams one-dimensional. We have to have that mindset when we go out on the field, so it is more of a mental thing.”
