Alabama names Players of the Week after win over Florida State

The Alabama Crimson Tide had its fanbase panicking through one quarter of play vs. the Florida State Seminoles. Fortunately, the opening frame proved to be a blip on Kalen DeBoer‘s radar, as his team rolled to a 50-36 victory in a weather-delayed affair.
Following a day of film study, Alabama released its Players of the Week on Monday morning. The Crimson Tide recognized eight players — including three scout team participants — for their contributions to the win.
Quarterback Keelon Russell played the best game of his career in Week 3, completing 76.7% of his passes (23/30) for 320 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. He added another 56 yards and a touchdown on the ground, giving the nation a look into what won him the team’s starting gig in the first place.
One of Russell’s touchdown passes went to tight end Kaleb Edwards, another of the Tide’s Players of the Week.
Defensively, Alabama credited defensive lineman Terrance Green and defensive back Zabien Brown for their performances. Green recorded a sack and two tackles for loss against the Seminoles. Brown, in the secondary, tallied three tackles and three pass breakups. On special teams, kicker Connor Talty earned acknowledgement with a perfect day on field goals (3/3) and PATs (5/5).
The Crimson Tide welcomes the South Carolina Gamecocks to Tuscaloosa on Saturday night in Week 4 (7:00 p.m. E.T., ESPN).
