Alabama names Players of the Week for Week 2 win over Kentucky

The Alabama Crimson Tide picked up their first SEC win of the 2026 campaign this past Saturday when they went on the road and knocked off the Kentucky Wildcats 45-17.
The Tide actually entered the locker room trailing the Cats 17-13 at the half, but were absolutely dominant over the final 2 frames of play, scoring 32 unanswered points to secure the victory.
Alabama had plenty of standout performers in all 3 phases of the game last Saturday, and the program handed out Player of the Week honors to a number of players on Monday as a reward for their efforts in securing the win.

Junior running back Daniel Hill, sophomore lineman Jackson Lloyd, and senior tight end Peyton Fox all earned Offensive Player of the Week honors for their performances. Hill led all Tide rushers with 104 yards and 1 touchdown, Lloyd anchored the left side of the offensive line from his tackle position, and Fox was the best scout team player on offense during practice leading up to the game.
Defensively, senior linebackers Caleb Woodson and Lane Wisenhunt were named Defensive Players of the Week alongside senior defensive lineman Devan Thompkins for their performances. Woodson led the team in tackles with 12 and was the co-leader in sacks (2) and tackles for a loss (2) with Thompkins, while Wisenhunt led the scout team defense.
Wisenhunt also earned Special Teams Player of the Week honors alongside the entire punt block team, who snuffed out and stopped a fake punt attempt by Kentucky in the third quarter that swung momentum in the Tide’s favor.
