Alabama has picked up an offensive line commitment from within the SEC. Texas true freshman transfer offensive tackle Nick Brooks is committing to Alabama, according to On3.
The 6-foot-8, 345-pound Brooks made 3 starts at left guard for Texas last season. Overall, Brooks played in 5 games for the Longhorns during the 2025 season. Brooks arrived at Texas as a 4-star recruit.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Brooks is the No. 6 interior offensive lineman and No. 132 player in the transfer portal.
Coming out of high school, Brooks was regarded by 247Sports as the No. 44 prospect from Georgia and the No. 29 offensive tackle in the nation.
Brooks had an up-and-down season at Texas. He committed 4 penalties and had pass blocking grade of 17.1 and a run blocking grade of 46.5 through 221 total snaps, according to Yahoo Sports. Brooks hit the transfer portal on the heels of Texas being rumored as a top-2 landing spot for highly regarded Colorado offensive tackle Jordan Seaton.
Alabama went 11-4 this season in Kalen DeBoer‘s second year at the helm. The Crimson Tide lost to Georgia in the SEC Championship Game, then defeated Oklahoma and fell to Indiana in the College Football Playoff.
