No. 17 Alabama will have a pair of players making their season debuts at No. 5 Georgia in Week 5.
Running back Jam Miller (collarbone) and defensive lineman Tim Keenan (ankle) are expected to be in the lineup for the Crimson Tide’s clash with the Bulldogs on Saturday.
That news was shared by Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer and defensive coordinator Kane Wommack on Monday:
This is good news for Alabama in terms of bolstering the running game and defensive front, 2 categories they struggled with in the season-opening loss at then-unranked Florida State.
Alabama is averaging just 4.26 yards per carry so far this season, which ranks 12th in the SEC. Through 3 games, only Kevin Riley (120 yards) has more than 50 rushing yards on the young season. Riley is also second on the team in receptions with 10 so far this season.
Defensively, Alabama ranks 10th in the SEC in rushing yards allowed per attempt (3.61).
Miller rushed for 668 yards and 7 touchdowns last season. The 6-foot-2, 320-pound Keenan registered 16 solo tackles and 2.5 sacks last season.
Alabama at Georgia is slated for a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff on Saturday and will be televised on ABC.
