Alabama running back Jam Miller was again listed as probable in the SEC availability report that was released on Friday night.

That’s huge news for 6th-ranked Alabama on the eve of its home showdown with 11th-ranked Tennessee. Miller sustained a concussion in last week’s victory at Mizzou and was considered questionable during most of this week for the Week 8 game with the Volunteers.

But that all changed on Thursday night, when Miller was upgraded from questionable to probable on the SEC availability report. Miller had been listed as questionable on the initial injury report that was released on Wednesday night.

So, the fact that he stayed probable on Friday night’s report is big news for Alabama and specifically the Crimson Tide running game, which has been nonexistent this season except for a few bursts from none other than Miller. He leads the Tide in rushing this season with 267 yards on 58 carries, averaging 4.6 yards per carry. Miller has 1 touchdown as well.

He missed the season’s first 3 games with a dislocated collarbone suffered during a scrimmage in fall camp. Miller returned for the Week 5 victory at Georgia, then had by far his best game of the season the following week against Vanderbilt, rushing for 136 yards on 22 carries and that 1 touchdown.

But the injury bug bit Miller again last week against Mizzou when he suffered a concussion in the 4th quarter, leaving his status for this Saturday in question.
