LT Overton’s social media tease proved to be accurate. The standout defender will be back for Alabama in the College Football Playoff quarterfinal.
Overton got the attention of fans and media members with a social media post on Tuesday hinting that he’d be back after missing UA’s last two games. It didn’t take long for Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports to report that the Alabama defensive lineman has been cleared to return.

Overton missed the SEC Championship Game loss to Georgia and CFP First Round win over Oklahoma due to an undisclosed injury. Playing 12 of 14 games, Overton has 35 total tackles. He’s second on the team in sacks with 4.0 and fourth in TFLs with 6.0 on the year.
Kalen DeBoer‘s squad is currently gearing up to face Indiana in the Rose Bowl. The Hoosiers last played in the Big Ten Championship Game, beating Ohio State to improve to 13-0, earning a first-round bye with the No. 1 seed in the 12-team Playoff field.
