Alabama standout trio get new injury status for Week 8 battle against Texas A&M

Alabama might be without a slew of very important players on Saturday afternoon as it tries to break a 2-game losing streak.

The Friday night SEC injury report brought new injury designations for a trio of Alabama standouts — center Racin Delgatty, cornerback Zabien Brown and talented freshman running back EJ Crowell. All 3 players were listed as questionable on Thursday night’s injury report after also being questionable on Wednesday night.

But that suddenly changed on Friday night, when Delgatty, Brown and Crowell were all downgraded to doubtful for Saturday’s Week 8 SEC matchup against Texas A&M.

When the Crimson Tide and Aggies kick things off in Tuscaloosa at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC, Bama might be without that trio in addition to definitely being without star wideout Ryan Coleman-Williams, who had been ruled out earlier this week.

That means a very crucial quartet of players might not be available for Kalen DeBoer‘s 13th-ranked team, which is trying to gain traction again after back-to-back losses to Georgia and Tennessee. As expected, Alabama will also be without talented defensive lineman Terrance Green.

Meanwhile, Texas A&M might have the availability of star wide receiver Mario Craver and standout defensive tackle DJ Hicks against the Tide. Both Craver and Hicks were previously listed as questionable but on Friday night were upgraded to probable for the showdown against Alabama.

According to a report on Friday night by ESPN insider Pete Thamel, Craver and Hicks are expected to be available to play on Saturday. But the Aggies kept the star duo on the injury report on Friday night, listing them as probable instead of taking them off the injury report totally.

Alabama might be severely shorthanded on Saturday against Texas A&M with those new injury designations on Friday night. Here is what the Kalshi market is currently saying about the Crimson Tide’s chances to still prevail at home against the Aggies:
