One of the top 2028 prospects in Ohio is choosing Alabama over Ohio State.
Kalen DeBoer and the Crimson Tide got big news on Monday for a couple of years down the road. Anthony Blalock Jr., an elite lineman in the Class of 2028, has committed to play for Alabama.
Out of Youngstown (Ohio) Fitch High School, Blalock is already listed as measuring 6-6 and 315 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Blalock is rated 4-stars, the No. 6 player in the state of Ohio, No. 12 interior offensive lineman and No. 204 prospect overall in the 2028 recruiting class.

It’s early in the 2028 recruiting cycle, as prospects have two more seasons of high school football ahead. Blalock, though, has already picked up scholarship offers from 22 programs. Florida State, Mizzou and Penn State are among the programs that showed early interest.
For Monday’s announcement, Blalock told Hayes Fawcett of Rivals that he chose Alabama over Ohio State and Texas Tech.
With Blalock on board, Alabama now has 6 verbal commitments for 2028. The class is currently ranked No. 1 nationally on the Composite.
