TUSCALOOSA, Ala. โ University of Alabama coach Nick Saban disclosed during his weekly radio show that senior wide receiver DeAndrew White has been dealing with a second injury and will be a game-time decision at Ole Miss on Saturday.
White has been limited the past two weeks by a sprained toe sustained during the Florida game on Sept. 20. His initial injury was a shoulder injury against West Virginia in the season opener.
โHeโs been a bit unlucky,โ Saban said Thursday evening.
White has 12 receptions for 121 yards this season. Despite missing two games heโs still second on the team behind junior Amari Cooperโs 43 catches for 655 yards.
โItโs a tough matchup for defenses with DeAndrew out there because heโs a great player and heโs a great route runner,โ Cooper said earlier this week.
โWe have a lot of weapons at receiver here. Everyone who plays receiver here is really fast and can do a lot of things. Itโll be hard to try to defend that.โ
Sophomore Chris Black started in Whiteโs place against Florida Atlantic and Southern Miss.
Christopher Walsh has covered Alabama football since 2004 and is the author of 19 books. In his free time, he writes about college football.
