Auburn is getting ready to hold its first spring game under new head coach Alex Golesh. Ahead of the festivities, Golesh detailed the A-Day format with the media.
“So we’re going to we’re going to go offense versus defense,” Golesh told reporters. “We got a cool scoring format. Offense will get points for touchdowns, field goals, first downs, explosive plays, defense will get points for tackles for losses, three-and-outs, turnovers, (and) sacks.
“So explosive plays on both sides and then stops.”

While Auburn quarterbacks will not be live to reduce injury risks, Golesh is trying to give it the feel of a “real game.”
“We’ll play four 15-minute quarters,” Golesh noted. “We’ll (have a ) running clock. We’ll stop it for injuries, stop it for the 2-minute warnings. So we’ll play it like a real game.
“We need it. Our team needs it. Our coaches need it. We all kind of need it, but it’ll be uber-competitive.”
A-Day is set for 2 p.m. CT/3 p.m. ET on Saturday in Jordan-Hare Stadium.
