Alex Golesh says Auburn players will move into hotel during fall camp

Auburn coach Alex Golesh is taking an unconventional approach to his first fall camp on the Plains.
Golesh told reporters on Tuesday that all Auburn players will spend the next 13 days in a local hotel in order to eliminate distractions as they prepare for the 2026 season.
“We’ve got 13 days there as a team,” Golesh said. “Reasoning there is just to be able to take the guys, move them off campus, eliminate every single bit of distraction we possibly can. We’ve got 13 days. That’s how it was presented to the team.
“They’re excited about it. There’s no nothing. No girlfriends, no dogs, cats, whatever guys are into. It’s truly just us for the next 13 days which is absolutely huge for us.”
The 13-day period will run until classes begin at Auburn on Aug. 17.

Auburn’s 2026 season starts with a tough nonconference matchup against Baylor in Week 1. The Tigers will also play 9 SEC games and have not posted a winning record in conference play since 2020 — Gus Malzahn’s final season at the helm.
Auburn and Baylor will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on Sept. 5.
